Kim Holland has 20 years experience in the field of Psychiatric Mental-Health Nursing, and received AACN Certification as a Board Certified Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nurse in 2004.  Kim brings years of leadership experience, ranging from child mental health to geropsychiatry.  Kim has taught psychiatric nursing as an adjunct professor at Oklahoma University School of Nursing and is dedicated to enhancing the psychiatric skills of nursing students.  Kim also serves as a CARF (Commission Accreditation for Psychiatric and Rehabilitation Services) surveyor and consultant, which allows her to travel and evaluate psychiatric services across the nation. 

Kim serves as a board member on the Oklahoma Board of Nursing Executives.  She has been a CAPE (Creating a Positive Environment) trainer for over a decade and is passionate about creating a culture of safety in psychiatric settings.  Additionally, Kim is a national speaker who is sought out on the topics of psychiatric nursing, teambuilding, leadership, communication and conflict resolution.  Kim is considered an expert in the field of re-entry culture shock and has written articles and lead seminars on the subject. 

Recently, Kim has become an instructor with Nurses Now International, promoting psychiatric concepts to nurses in Mexico.  She is a member of the Oklahoma Board of Nurse Executives, Oklahoma Nurse Practitioners and the American Psychiatric Nurses Association. 

Currently, Kim works as the Director of Education at Comanche County Memorial Hospital where her knowledge base extends to an entire hospital system.  She also continues to practice as a psychiatric NP in the same system.  Kim is actively and aggressively involved in the legislative process in Oklahoma and Mental Health Law, and is a tireless advocate for the mentally ill in Oklahoma.  Kim was the honored recipient of the Oklahoma Spirit of Achievement award for 2009 from the Oklahoma Hospital Association.  Kim has also recently become a Corporate Mediator.
