Normally, habits are classified as positive and negative. According to Webster's Dictionary, the word "habit" means "the usual condition or state of a person or thing, either natural or acquired, regarded as something had, possessed, and firmly retained." Installing a new habit to improve therapy health and wellness is easier than you may think.
To be one of those fit and healthy people, include the following into your routine, make them a habit and see how your life changes:
1. Ready, set, breakfast. Have you eaten breakfast today? A good breakfast can supply your body enough energy for the entire day. More essential vitamins and minerals are consumed by breakfast eaters. They have less fat, cholesterol and not only that, people who have breakfast feel more happy and healthy. Include fats, proteins and carbohydrates in your breakfast meal.
2. Keep exercising. A large number of Americans fail to exercise regulary, CDC reports. The health benefits of regular physical activity to therapy professionals are hard to ignore. It prevents diabetes, obesity, hypertension, helps lower cholesterol and blood pressure. By exercising, you also get to sleep better and stay stress-free. Did you know that exercise can help fight colds and improve your respiratory health? Make it a habit to include strength training, flexibility training and cardiovascular training in your workout routines.
3. Go to bed. How much sleep do you need? Research says that whether seven hours or nine hours, it varies on each individual. If you can wake up without an alarm clock, then this means you are getting sufficient amount of sleep which is good for every therapist's wellness. Observe yourself during the mornings. If you are still not feeling refreshed after seven hours of sleep, consider visiting a sleep specialist.
4. Drinking water is the way to go. Stay dehydrated through out the day. Two fun facts: 66% of your body is water and 75% of your brain is water. See how essential water is to our body? While exercising, keep a bottle of water with you to gain more energy. It is recommended to drink at least one cup of water for every 15 minutes of regular exercise.
5. Stay positive in thoughts and actions. Look around you and notice that optimistic people live a happier and healthier life. They can easily handle hectic situations and perform more physical activities than pessimistic people. Mayo Clinic has listed down seven health benefits of thinking positively. They are:
- Easily overcome depression
- Live longer
- Prevent colds
- Stay relaxed and reduce stress level
- Better mental and physical health
- Manage stress successfully

- Improve cardiovascular health
6. No excuses for eating fruits and vegetables. The high fiber content helps you control blood sugar levels and cholesterol and they're good for heart health. Keep assorted fruits out of your refrigerator so you can see them. Consume at least five to nine portions daily.
It's high time you take care of your health. These healthy habits will help you feel better and happier. Remember, to maintain good therapy health and wellness, you have to make small changes in your daily routine to make a big difference.
