Standout Marketing Strategies for Your Physical Therapy Practice

Last Updated Nov 2013

By: Samuel Awosolu

In this video, Samuel Awosolu discusses why therapists should think outside the box and use a few unconventional marketing strategies to help build your patient or client referral base for your physical therapy practice. Samuel admits that some of these strategies are probably a little bit different than what you are used to doing traditionally. However, isn’t that what you want? To be different from your competitors so that you can clearly stand out from the rest of them?

Start training yourself to think differently with your marketing approach. If you are competing for therapy business in your local area, see what your competitors are doing and think of how you can do it differently or better.

Through Samuel’s experience in business, he learned that doing the same things others are doing in marketing your physical therapy practice will not get you noticed. Be BOLD! Try new things and don’t be afraid to take risks. It is one of the ways your business will see growth.

I enjoyed and appreciated the thinking outside the box marketing video and thank you for the marketing tips. I believe it's very important to do all you can to stand out by going the extra mile to effectively help patients meet their unmet functional needs. Ultimately, we are professional, creative, and innovative problem solvers. We help people deal adaptively and constructively with their problems. That being said, we need to also be good marketers. Historically, physical therapists have not put a lot of emphasis on this. There definitely is an art to marketing in our modern day ever changing digital health care culture which affords us the opportunity to positively and effectively reflect on our companies, as well as the physical therapy profession. It's very important for us to continuously define who we are, what we have to offer, and how we uniquely and effectively can help health care consumers to meet their functional needs. - Louis Voigt Smith, PT, DPT, OCS, CredMDT (via LinkedIn)
