Ms. Anderson is the Executive Director of the West Virginia State Board of Examiners for Licensed Practical Nurses. She has been employed with the Board since 1992, and has been the ED since 2001.
She has been licensed as a registered nurse since 1980. She completed a Bachelor’s in Business Administration in 1984, and a Masters in Nursing Administration in 2006 from Marshall University. Ms. Anderson graduated from law school at West Virginia University in 1992 and has been licensed as an attorney in the State of West Virginia since that time. She has served on a variety of committees with the National Council of State Boards of Nursing and committees for the Council on Licensure, Enforcement, and Regulation. Ms. Anderson is also an adjunct faculty member in the LPN to BSN program at Mountain State University and the BSN program at the University of Charleston in West Virginia, teaching leadership, legal issues, and ethics. She currently teaches in the online MSN program at Olivet Nazarene University, and the RN to BSN program at Kaplan University.
Ms. Anderson frequently speaks to nurses, students, and nurse educators in West Virginia. She participated in June 2007 in a symposium at the International Council of Nurses Annual Meeting in Yokohama, Japan entitled “Effectively Leading a Multigenerational Workforce.” She also participated in 2007 in a presentation entitled “How to Avoid Disciplinary Hearings” in San Francisco at the Investigator/Attorney Workshop sponsored by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
Ms. Anderson is a mother of three wonderful children. She enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her four dogs.
